Create Campaign

Overview

One Creations supports three types of campaigns:

  1. Collect: use this campaign to gather new preference data from your customers
  2. Confirm: use this campaign to get permission for using existing customer data
  3. Extend: use this campaign to extend a data collection campaign that's about to expire

In addition to obtaining customer permission to use their data, campaigns allow brands to:

  1. Explain why they are using consumers' data: clearly outline the purpose of collecting customer data
  2. Specify what data they are using: detail the specific data points being collected
  3. Indicate how long they will use the data for: specify the duration for which data will be used
  4. Define who will have access to the data: identify which group or organization will have permission to access the customer data

NOTE: To control who can access the data, make groups in your organization before starting a campaign. You can always add new people to groups later.

Create Campaign

To create a campaign, click the + button on the left navigation bar. Then, select "Create a Consent Campaign".

create campaign step 1

Once you are on the "Create Consent Campaign" page, you can start filling in campaign details:

Title

Required. This is the title of the campaign that is visible to consumers. You can see how it looks in the right-hand side consumer preview.

Image

Optional. Click to upload an image file of up to 20MB. It's visible to consumers.

Select the campaign color

Optional. You can change the primary color of the campaign.

Reviewer

Optional. Select someone from your company to review and approve the campaign before publishing.

Protection level

Optional. You can select an encryption option to protect data once it’s collected.

Why do we use your data

Required and visible to consumers. Use this section to explain why you are collecting the data.

How long will we use the data

Required, visible to consumers, and enforced by the One Creation platform. E.g. If you set 1 month, you will only be able to access the collected data for 1 month.

Select existing dataset

When selected, you can request permission to use existing customer data. Consumers' email addresses must exist as a column in the selected dataset in order for us to identify them.

  • Under Dataset and Reward, select an existing dataset if you have one setup or click on "Setup a New Dataset". This will prompt you to start creating a new dataset in a new browser tab.
  • Next, select the data owner ID column dropdown and choose the name of the email column from the dataset.
  • Define who can receive what data in the rules section:

create rules

  • To see the shared attribute names, select the box that says "show detailed data points".

Collect new data

Select this option to see the "Preference Request" button under the "Dataset and Reward" section. Embed customizable questions into your marketing journey to collect zero-party data.

Designer

Click on the Preference Request button to bring up the designer:

  1. On the left hand side panel, there's a wide variety of all types of questions we support.
  2. The middle section of the designer is where you can add and edit each question.
  3. Customize the campaign page and individual questions using the menu on the right.
  4. If you configured data to flow downstream to platforms like Klaviyo, Segment, or webhook, consider setting the "Name" of the questions and choices to match or follow naming conventions of the desired attribute or property names in these systems.
  5. Always retain the Email question and keep its name as 'Email' in the form. This helps ensure campaign respondents are automatically registered as contacts.

Preview

Under Preview, you can preview the entire preference request before saving it.

create rules

Logic

You can set up dynamic questions that are triggered by conditions. In the following example, the campaign respondent initially only sees the Email field. Once they enter their email, the Age question will appear.

create rules

JSON Editor

You can download an existing preference request, or add/edit the JSON file directly in the editor.

Enter Reward

Optional

  • The Quantity field is a number field.
  • The Description field is a free text field used to describe what the reward is. For example, if the reward is 20% off, enter 20 in the "Quantity" field and "% off of a purchase" in the description field.

Save Draft

Once you complete all required fields of a campaign, you can save it as a draft. Draft campaigns can be edited or deleted at any time. They will not collect results.

Publish

Publishing a campaign activates it. Published Collect campaigns collect all responses and, if enabled, trigger data to flow downstream to platforms like Klaviyo, Segment, or via webhook.
